In the wake of George Floyd's murder (and subsequent protests around the world), Instagram has proven itself as a great source to help us educate ourselves about systemic racism and white privilege.
Various activists and social media users have taken to Instagram to explain just how deeply systemic racism penetrates into our society—going much further than the police brutality we've witnessed recently—as well as the things that non-black allies can do to slowly eradicate it.
From calling out systemic racism when you see it to educating yourself with films, books and TV shows in order to be a better ally, now's a better time than ever to take active steps to improve your lifestyle, and Instagram is the perfect place to start.
One of the easiest and best ways we can help is to raise our own voices as well as sharing and spreading awareness. This is a global problem, and educating yourself and others will only prove to be positive, even if it is confronting at times (which it will be).
