Paris fashion week is officially in full swing, with the most fashionable people in the world heading to the sartorial capital in droves. With them, so many new trends.
From the ones we’ve been wondering about for a while (Western?) to the ones we’re excited to embrace (beige!), the streets of Paris have been awash with outfits we’re ready to copy. We chatted to the founder of Order Of Style Lana Coppel about the trends we’ll definitely be trying this coming season and what to buy to actually wear them.
All beige everything
Beige is the most surprising trend of 2019 and also the most accessible. Previously we have associated the colour palette with drabe ‘70s office workers and perfectly manicured grandmas. However, it’s come back into our wardrobes and offers a fresh and polished aesthetic reimagined in modern silhouettes like tracksuit sets and structured cotton blouses. The easiest way to work beige into your wardrobe is through the classic trench coat. Want to dive in head first? A head-to-toe look is the way to go — pair a paper bag waist trouser with a silk cami and throw on a neat fitting blazer for a polished look that can take you from office to gallery opening. Don’t worry about matching the exact tone of each piece, your outfit will be more interesting with different tonal shades.

Pastel suiting
Shoulder to shoe coloured suits have become a big part of the fashion conversation over the last six months and I think it’s here to stay. Blake Lively’s electric green Versace suit may not be everyone’s taste but there are plenty of more demure and accessible options for everyday. Start by picking a trouser shape that works for you and get a good tailor to tweak it to the perfect fit. An easy one to over do — I recommend adding subtle touches to your outfit rather than going for a full Western ensemble. The easiest entry point is a western inspired belt. Next stop, a plaid shirt or a top with some Western detailing. And what says “yee-haw”

Another great trend that’s reappeared is checks. Whether printed or woven it’s a great style with so many easy ways to style it. From checked jackets to shirts and dresses, this trend can be used to add texture and interest to a simple jeans and T-shirt look. Chunky knits
There’s nothing better than a snuggly woollen knit to keep the cold weather at bay.
