This Is How You Can Watch The 2019 Oscars
After many months of memorable awards shows and show-stopping red carpet looks, the 'grand finale' in Hollywood is officially upon us. The biggest night of the year will see the best of the best in film join together at the Dolby Theatre for the 91st Academy Awards.
Every year, the awards ceremony pulls out all the stops whether it's memorable red carpet looks to jaw-dropping moments (the La La Land mix-up, anyone?). Along with who will take the coveted gold statues, we're looking forward to see what our favourite A-list celebrities will glide the red carpet in and, of course, the most anticipated performance of the night from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
Ahead of the biggest night in Hollywood, find out everything you need to know from when the Oscars will be on, to how watch it in Australia and who is set to perform, below.
When are the 2019 Oscars?
The 91st Academy Awards ceremony will take place at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, February 24 from 2.30pm US local time. For us in the southern hemisphere, that means it will be be Monday, February 25 9.30am AEDT.
Where can I watch the Oscars in Australia?
E! Australia (on Foxtel) will kick off the red carpet coverage from 9am on Monday, March 5 and the ceremony will air on Channel Nine from 12pm.
Who is hosting the Oscars?
For the first time in thirty years, the Oscars will go ahead without a host for this year's ceremony. The Academy found it difficult to find a replacement after comedian Kevin Hart quit following homophobic tweets that re-surfaced from years ago. Instead, the ceremony will have multiple presenters throughout the evening.
Who will be performing?
We can expect performances from Jennifer Hudson, Bette Midler (who will perform Mary Poppins Returns' nominated song 'The Place Where Lost Things Go'), Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. However, the most anticipated performance will be Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's duet of 'Shallow' from their nominated film A Star Is Born. It has also been confirmed that Queen alongside Adam Lambert will perform in honour of Bohemian Rhapsody.
