While Hilary Duff and her 5-year-old son, Luca, were on vacation in Canada this week, the Younger star’s L.A. home was reportedly burglarized.
Despite the obvious shake-up of a break-in and theft, it appears that no one and no pets were otherwise injured in the incident. Duff’s team released a statement to Entertainment Tonight.
"This is a scary and upsetting situation for anyone to go through, but Hilary is thankful that her family, her staff, her home and her pets are all safe," it read. "That said, she has a significant security team in place that will work with the authorities on this incident and handle security measures moving forward."
According to TMZ, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was stolen from the Disney Channel alum’s residence.
The 29-year-old is the most recent in a series of increasingly frequent celebrity break-ins and robberies in the L.A. area, which includes the homes of Kendall Jenner, Nicki Minaj, and Emmy Rossum.
The actress has spent the past week busily posting about her trip abroad.
