Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were the Hollywood power couple of the 1990s until their split in 1997, and now Paltrow says she is thankful she broke up with Pitt when she did for this very interesting (and understandable) reason.
In her latest interview with WSJ. Magazine, Paltrow discussed how her and close friend Cameron Diaz are thankful there were less paparazzi in their twenties than there are for the young stars in 2018, “Cameron Diaz and I talk about this all the time. We’re like, ‘Thank God in the early ’90s there were [so few] paparazzi.' Thank God."
Paltrow went on to say that she felt grateful she went through her Pitt breakup in the far less hectic days of the late '90s, “I remember when Brad Pitt and I broke up, it was on the cover of the New York Post and there was no one outside my house. That would never happen today.”
Pitt and Paltrow met on the set of David Fincher's thriller Se7en in 1994, and following their split, both actors went on to get married - twice.
Speaking to the publication about her current husband Brad Falchuk, the Shakespeare in Love actress shared how her approach to romance has changed as she's gotten older, “It’s fantastic. I feel like we are probably better equipped to choose our life partner when we are halfway through life. But generally, we have to pick our spouses a lot earlier because of the whole procreation piece,"
Paltrow added, "For me it has been more of a process, and so I feel really lucky to have met this person who is an incredible, true partner.”
