2. Jane Birkin made a surprise performance
In another nod to its host country, Gucci enlisted French icon Jane Birkin, who stood up from her front row seat half way through the show to perform “Baby Alone in Babylone”.
3. Dolly Parton and Janis Joplin also appeared in spirit
A denim jacket painted with Parton's face and felted hats inspired by Joplin were sent down the runway. This isn't the first time Michele has honoured musicians—Elton John played muse to the designer's spring 2018 collection.
4. There were Mickey Mouse-shaped bags
Also partial to a collaboration, Michele swapped last season's New York Yankees x Gucci caps for another American icon—Mickey Mouse. It was impossible to miss the cute top handle bags shaped into the Disney character's head.
5. A cockatoo walked the runway
Well, it didn't walk, it sat perched atop a model's shoulder. That's Gucci for you.
