Gigi, who was country music singer Kasey Musgraves’ date for the night, wore a simple white metallic Helmut Lang gown on the red carpet. Her flawless complexion and nude lips played a pared-back supporting role to her shimmery gold eye makeup (which perfectly complemented Kasey’s yellow sequinned Valentino dress).
Gigi’s makeup was "inspired by the flashing lights of Nashville and the vibrant glam of country music", said Ta, who revealed the entire makeup how-to in a press release.
For Gigi’s sculpted base, Ta blended the darkest shade of Maybelline FaceStudio Master Contour V-Shape DuoStick under her cheekbones. He then used the lightest shade under the eyes, in the center of the forehead, and on the chin and the bridge of the nose.
"Next I used the Maybelline FitMe Blush in Nude and applied it to the apples of her cheeks, blending into the contour for a seamless finish," he explained.
"For a subtle but impactful highlight, I applied Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold to the highest but flattest points of her cheekbones.” He then set the base with a makeup setting spray so it wouldn’t budge.
Ta used his "favorite palette", the Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette, for the eye makeup, which will set you back just $28.95. He applied the shade Sweet Tea to her crease with a fluffy blush, blending out any hard edges. He also applied the warm brown shade to her lower lash line. The Sherbet shade was swept across her entire eyelid using a flat brush.
For the show-stopping gold look, smudge the sparkly Main Squeeze shade on the inner corners of your eyes.
“So obsessed with straight eyeliner lately!” Ta said on his Instagram, revealing he used Maybelline TattooStudio Sharpenable Gel Pencil Longwear Eyeliner in Deep Onyx to nail the sharp winged look. Two coats of The Falsies Black Drama Washable Mascara and the eyes were done.
For the final step, Ta lined Gigi’s lips and added Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lipstick in Nude Thrill. We don’t have that exact shade here in Australia so try the Gone Griege hue instead. It’s $9 well spent!
