After Ryan Reynolds spent Blake Lively's birthday trolling her with unflattering photos, the actress was probably a bit on edge to find she'd been tagged in a post by her supermodel friend Gigi Hadid this morning. But unlike Ryan, Gigi paid tribute to the birthday girl with a lovely post and a never-before-seen photo of the pair taken on film by one of Blake's daughter's.
Gigi, who spent last night dancing to Missy Elliott and Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs, posted a heartfelt tribute to the Gossip Girl star, writing, "It’s this Queen’s birthday week and I just want to say how grateful and lucky I am to have a friend like you, B."
"You are a real one and inspire me in so many ways. I will only be able to thank you enough by making you endless oatmeal griddle cakes and training your children to be world-class disposable-camera photographers," she continued.
"I love you! Wishing you every blessing. 🥞🧁🎈 @blakelively," she finished the post, which was accompanied by an image of the two of them in a kitchen. Gigi, sitting down with a cup of coffee, and Blake posing while holding a plate. Whether the photographer was four-year-old James or two-year-old Inez is unclear, but whichever one it was could have a future career in photography.
Gigi and Blake met through their mutual bestie Taylor Swift and have become super close friends over the years. For Gigi's birthday back in April, Blake posted her own touching tribute, writing on Instagram, "You love and celebrate others. You build people up rather than tearing them down. You work so hard. You have so much appreciation. You're present. And kind."
"You're insanely talented at things no one is good at - like making chairs from scratch out of resin. And you love everyone around you so fully. I'm happy to know your sweet spirit. Yeah I just spoke about your spirit. Things have gotten deep," she joked.
