Lorde attended Takapuna Grammar School from 2010 to 2013, but didn't return to complete her final grade of high school since he music career had taken off following the release of her debut album, Pure Heroine.
Jumping to the conclusion that Lorde will face jail time if she refuses to pay the fine (FYI, it’s not a real policy, so this is never going to happen), the hashtag #FreeLorde was born. And so too were all these hilarious memes:
