If, like us, you binge-watched Netflix's The Crown, then get excited because the BBC just confirmed a new royal drama is on the way.
Charles III, is based on the Tony-award winning play by Mike Bartlett, the series will begin with Queen Elizabeth II's funeral and see the Duchess portrayed as a cunning Lady MacBeth character.
“I see her as pragmatic rather than ruthless,” says Charlotte Riley, who plays Kate. “Her business brain understands that the royal family must remain relevant.”
Charlotte Riley (who was born just ten days before Kate in 1981) is married to Peaky Blinders co-star Tom Hardy.
Charles III debuted to British audiences with rave reviews. The Guardian said, "Diana’s ghost, Camilla slapping the prince, Kate as Lady Macbeth … people have been outraged by the BBC’s potentially treasonous new drama. But after watching, the response should be more ‘hooray’ than ‘off with their heads!"
*Fingers-crossed* it screens down under soon!
