Emma Watson went viral earlier this month when she coined the term 'self-partnered' to describe her relationship status. Not only was the phrase unheard of before her announcement (and readily embraced by singles everywhere), but it doubled as a PSA that she's not, in fact, dating her friend and Harry Potter co-star, Tom Felton.
But despite Emma shutting the romance rumours down, another star of the Harry Potter franchise has hinted that there might actually be something going on between the two. Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley, recently told Entertainment Tonight that despite his character ending up with Emma's Hermione Granger, there was an undeniable spark between Emma and Tom off-screen.
"There was always something," Grint told ET. "There was a little bit of a spark."
Rupert went on to clarify that the spark could've been nothing more than a "playground romance," given the cast literally grew up together on set.
"But we were kids. It was like any kind of playground romance," he said. As for himself, Rupert noted that he "didn't have any sparks. I was spark-free."
After Emma declared herself 'self-partnered', Tom said he's in the same category while speaking with the Daily Mail: "I like it! It’s the first I’ve heard of it, but it’s great. I’m in the same category, to be honest with you, quite happily self-partnered."
Well, what do you call all of this cuteness then?!
