Bad news for Ed Sheeran fans around the world today, as the singer has been forced to cancel many of his 'Divide' World Tour dates.
Ed sustained multiple injuries yesterday and has casts on both of his arms, after being hit by a car while bike riding. The singer, who is set to perform a record-breaking number of shows in Australia in March 2018, announced that multiple shows in Asia will not go ahead.
He shared a statement on Instagram, along with a photo of his cast.
"A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future. Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong," the statement read. "I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details."
"PS - Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged," the statement finished.
Wishing Ed a speedy recovery! Stay tuned for more details on whether or not the 12 Australian concerts will go ahead.
