Cody Simpson Shaded Miley Cyrus' Exes While Speaking About Relationship
"I think we were interested in each other since we first met"
Right now it seems we can't go one day without news from Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson's direction. Yesterday, Miley came under fire for saying women don't "have to be gay" because good guys exist and now it appears Cody is throwing shade in the direction of Miley's past relationships by suggesting the singer hadn't had a romantic experience before him.
Appearing on the Kyle & Jackie O Show while Down Under, Cody was asked about his relationship with Miley and how they started dating after being friends for years and after Miley's separation from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter. "She's been through a lot this year and I was trying to be respectful of that," he said.
"I think we were interested in each other since we first met, even when I was like, 18, but it was not the right time." He added: "I told her. I was like, I used to kiss the TV screen when I was like, 9."
"I’m very, very, very romantic," Cody went on to say, before adding: "I don’t think she...she’d talked about how she hadn’t had that kind of an experience in a relationship before."
"I like to be the best boyfriend I can possibly be," he continued. "Especially for her — she deserves that much."
As for whether they're at the L-word stage, Cody (thankfully) said love was "a big word" but revealed that the two have been a positive influence on each other as they're both now sober.
In her Instagram live, Miley revealed she hasn't touched drugs or alcohol in four months. "I’m four months sober," she said during the video session. "It’s the best I’ve ever felt," she added. "I’m radiating."
