In Byron Bay, InStyle cover star Elyse Knowles is tucked away with her dogs, Isla and Harlow. “Waking up to Isla and Harlow’s sleeping eyes every day is a treat. It makes my heart melt,” says Knowles. “I usually spend a lot of time away from home for work, so I’m honestly having a ball being so close to them all the time! Dogs are incredible creatures. They have a natural way of sensing our mood and cheering us up if they feel we’re down or a little out of sorts. You can always count on them to bring joy, love and companionship.”
After Ellen DeGeneres put the call out to find a home for an abandoned family of poodles in January, the Legends welcomed Petey into their home. For Chrissy, isolation clearly means extra time to bond (and bathe) with the pup.
Model Matilda Dods is spending time in her Sydney home with her Bengal, Babou. “Our cat Babou, Babs for short, is always the absolute light of our life, but lately even more so” she shares. “The routine of caring for him helps me stay in a routine of caring for myself, and talking him for a walk in the park every afternoon is the perfect excuse to get some sunshine and fresh air. These walks also offer a daily dose of human contact that is not my partner in the form of conversations with strangers about how you walk a cat on a leash.”
