Justin And Hailey Bieber
Hailey Bieber celebrated her marriage to Justin Bieber by adding some new ink to her collection. The model decided to mark the major milestone with two tattoos - one being the word 'Lover' written in cursive on the left side of her neck and the second a 'B' in reference to Baldwin and Bieber. Taking to Instagram, Hailey shared a close-up look at her hand, revealing the artwork was done by celebrity tattoo artist Dr Woo.
Bieber also got a face tattoo, according to Keith McCurdy of Bang Bang Tattoos. “They each got a tattoo,” he told Page Six. “Justin’s tattoo is on his face. It’s really thin and delicate. And [it’s] also not a traditional couples’ tattoo."
Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson
From the moment Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson began dating, the couple has wasted no time in displaying their very public love to the world. In a move that proves their relationship is permanent, Cyrus and Simpson took date night to a whole new level, deciding to get matching ink from famous tattoo artist (a favourite of the pair), Nico Bassill. The couple got matching trident tattoo’s in support of Simpson’s blossoming poetry career.
Bassill shared his work to Instagram, captioning the post "'Some mornings it’s like the sun rises only for her,' Prince Neptune."
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
Iconic duo Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have always worn their hearts on their sleeve - and got matching tattoos on their inner arms to prove it. The couple - who wed in September 2013 - opted for a black and white design that pays homage to their family. Chrissy's tattoo reads, "John Luna Miles" while John's reads, "Chrissy Luna Miles," in identical cursive handwriting.
Hollywood tattoo artist Daniel Winter - whose client list includes Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Joe Jonas, and Sophie Turner - designed the ink for the couple. Stone is best known for his precise needlework and intricate inkings. "Thank you thank you @winterstone," Teigen wrote. "You are not only incredibly talented but you are very kind and delightful and welcome over any time!!"
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have kept their relationship so private, it's unclear when they started dating and if they're even still together. But that didn't stop eagle-eyed fans from noticing that at some point, the couple got matching tattoos. Stepping out at the Venice Film Festival for her film Suspiria, the internet noticed that Johnson was sporting a brand new infinity tattoo. E! News reported just a few days earlier at a fashion launch in LA, Martin debuted the same infinity tattoo in a similar spot to Johnson’s new ink.
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson
Ariana Grande and fiancé Pete Davidson had a whirlwind romance, which was of course marked with several matching pieces of ink. The Sweetener singer and SNL comedian got engaged after just several weeks of dating, and by the time they'd broken up in October they'd amassed nearly fifteen tattoos between them, most of which have since been covered up. Between Davidson's massive rib tattoo and Grande's Kid Cudi reference, the couple's entire relationship can virtually be mapped in chronological order by their shared ink.
First — and most famously — Davidson had a bunny-eared mask tattooed behind his ear, reminiscent of the mask that Grande wears on the cover of her Dangerous Woman album. They both got “H2GKMO” inked on their right thumbs, which is an abbreviation of Grande’s favourite saying, “Honest to God, knock me out.” Grande even got the number “8418" on her ankle, a tattoo which matches one that the comedian has on his arm, commemorating his late father’s FDNY badge number.
Ed Westwick and Jessica Michél Serfaty
Ed Westwick proved he's nothing like his commitment-phobe counterpart Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl, by getting permanently inked with his now ex-girlfriend Jessica Michél Serfaty. The pair had red love hearts pierced with cupid's bow tattooed onto their forearms, which they proudly showed off in on social media.
"I almost wish we were butterflies and lived but three summer days -- three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain," Jessica wrote on Instagram. "Happy birthday ed. when rock 'n' roll met grok."
Adam Levin and Behati Prinsloo
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo are no strangers to getting tattoos to show their love for each other. They did just that with matching "you're so cool" ink when they tied the knot in 2014. Still, the Maroon 5 frontman took things up a notch. Levine got "True Love" inked on his fingers, which was shared with an NSFW photo.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth may be done for good, but before their divorce, the couple got inked up with matching Vegemite tattoos. While Cyrus' tattoo is on her upper arm, Hemsworth's matching Vegemite jar is on his ankle. Although the two have parted ways, at least they'll both have a dainty reminder of the beloved Aussie spread.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Long before news of Jenner's pregnancy leaked, she and then-rumoured boyfriend Scott got matching butterfly tattoos on their ankles. Nine months later, artist JonBoy revealed that the minimal piece of art was a tribute to their baby daughter, Stormi. The couple now also have the same matching 'Stormi' tattoo, which interestingly as does Kylie's BFF Stassie Karanikolaou.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
Expecting parents Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have a few tattoos between them, but only two are related to their relationship. Back in October 2018, the two both had Buzz Lightyear's famous quote from Toy Story — "to infinity and beyond" — inked on their wrists. Sometime earlier this year, they also added their initials (J and S) to the corners of the same arms.
In July 2019, the newlyweds lost their dog Waldo in a car accident. A few days after TMZ reported their loss, Turner and Jonas debuted their matching tattoos (each on their forearms) commemorating their pup on Instagram.
Victoria and David Beckham
For Victoria and David Beckham's sixth wedding anniversary, the two got matching tattoos. The former Posh Spice got hers on the back of her neck, while David opted for his arm. The Hebrew phrase translates into “I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.” The couple is still together and parents to four children, but Victoria has since gotten the ink removed.
Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson
When Ashley Benson posted a photo of herself to Instagram wearing a white singlet, fans were quick to notice the CD initials on the left side of her chest. The initials, inscribed in thin black ink, were suspected to be a tribute to now ex-girlfriend, Cara Delevingne. Fans pointed out that Delevingne has a matching tatt in the same spot on her torso. Hers reads "A," likely for Ashley.
