The Project's Carrie Bickmore will not stand for any talk of a feud with new co-host, Lisa Wilkinson.
Apparently, there has been animosity between the presenters due their differing paychecks. Lisa famously left the Today show in October following a pay dispute, it is reported that Channel 10 recruited the 53-year-old for an impressive $2.3 million salary. Comparatively, Carrie is said to be on a more humble salary, leading to a rivalry between the two according to The Daily Telegraph.
“I couldn’t believe [there were rumours] because this is complete fiction. Carrie can’t believe it, I can’t believe it,” Wilkinson told NewsCorp following the initial allegations of a feud and now Carrie has addressed the persistent rumours.
"I couldn't be more excited to be working with her. We text, we call and we're going to make a great team,' she told Who. Continuing to say her presence on that panel is, "the shot in the arm that [The Project] needed."
The Project's executive producer, Craig Campbell also affirmed that Bickmore and Wilkinson are on good terms.
“There’s nothing really to enlighten,” Campbell told The Australian. “Carrie’s position is known and they have been having great conversations on the phone. They adore and love each other and there are exciting times ahead.”
