Back for another year, the 2019 Met Gala red carpet has come and gone. With it, the most memorable fashion of recent years. The theme, Camp: Notes On Fashion, saw plenty of decadence, extravagance and OTT fashion moments. From Katy Perry as an actual candelabra to Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s moment in feathers, there was plenty to take in on the biggest red carpet of the year.
But, as always, there are winners and there are losers. We’ve rounded up the winners, sharing exactly who caught our attention — and who completely nailed the theme, below.
Lulu Custance, Market Editor & Fashion Office Manager
Ezra Miller exceeded all my expectations! Hands down one of the best dressed of the night, I love how accurately he interpreted this year’s theme wearing Burberry and the trippiest of beauty looks.
Katherine Green, Fashion Director
I am choosing Julia Garner as my favourite Met Ball look. Everything about her look is perfect — I love the headpiece, hair, make up and I would die to own a dress like that! She has perfectly balanced vintage and modern and rally stands out to me!
Lucy Wood, Junior Fashion Editor
Jarod Leto in an embellished, draped Gucci ensemble was my favourite look from the Met Gala red carpet this morning. If you don’t count carrying your own head as an accessory as the ultimate camp moment I’m not sure what is!
Francesca Wallace, Senior Digital Fashion Editor
Lady Gaga! Who else could pull off FOUR different outfits, a dance show and carry a trolley of wine and keep it all in theme? Queen.
