After rekindling their romance in late 2018, Bella Hadid and The Weeknd were confirmed to be taking time apart in August of this year. But over the weekend, it was rumoured the on-again-off-again couple was on after the musician was spotted attending the supermodel's 23rd birthday in New York City.
A source told E! News that The Weeknd spent the whole night by the birthday girl's side and that the two left the party together. "He was with her the entire night and they left together to go back to the apartment they both shared," they said. "You could tell that they were definitely in love and they both looked very happy being around each other."
But don't get too excited: a rep for The Weeknd has told PEOPLE that he actually just attended the event as a friend.
The 29-year-old seemed to address the reconciliation rumours on social media over the weekened too. “Imagine obsessing over someone’s relationship that u don’t know s— about,” he wrote in one post, adding a clown emoji. He later shared a screenshot of an old Tweet that read, “if I didn’t confirm it myself, then it is ‘not confirmed.’ “
