Lisa Hyde and Luke McLeod left Bachelor In Paradise arm-in-arm last night, to pursue their relationship outside of the dating show. Since their final episode aired, both stars have addressed reports that their romance broke down due to a cheating scandal.
In an interview with Now To Love, Lisa revealed she had broken up with Luke recently after several months of dating, because he had an affair.
"Since leaving the show, we did date for several months," she told the publication. "We got to know each other, we spent a lot of time together, and we've recently broken up. Unfortunately the trust was lost, and I respect myself a little bit too much to let somebody walk all over me like that, so we separated. We have spoken since and are on talking terms. It was unexpected and not the outcome that I wanted, but the right man is out there for me. I met his family, and he met my family, we got along really well. I think mistakes happen, people have to live with those consequences and Luke is responsible for his actions. It is what is - you can't really explain it anymore."
She continued: "Luke and I had something special, but there was a mistake. There comes a time when you have to stand up for yourself and say - 'you know what? No!'"
Luke also addressed the reports, sharing several videos on his Instagram story.
"I don't want to get in to a debate around 'he said, she said' and all the different reasons that led to how things broke down," he told his fans. "Out of respect for her I think it's just best to say I stuffed up and I'm sorry. I feel like I've let a lot of people down. I hope that you guys can understand somehow."
