Following her split from Strahan, Nation and Luxa began dating and quickly became engaged in December of 2017. But by April 2018, multiple reports surfaced claiming Nation and Luxa had called off their engagement.
Speaking to TV Week, Nation said she had “jumped the gun and owed it to myself to explore my sexuality and figure out who I am”.
Nation explained Luxa had been her first same-sex partner and her love life had been “turned on its head when I met her”.
“When she proposed, I said yes with my whole heart. But as time went on, I thought this was going way too fast. We didn’t break up; we decided we wouldn’t be engaged, so I stopped wearing my ring,” Nation said of the relationship. “She was really amazing. She was so supportive and understanding of that because she’d been with women for all her romantic life.”
Nation and Strahan will reunite on this year's Bachelor In Paradise, airing April 9 on Channel 10.
