The Toni May founder appeared on Matty J's season of The Bachelor, and as many fans would know they are still very much together today. In fact, the couple got engaged and even welcomed their first child in June 2019, Marlie-Mae.
Byrne now even hosts a podcast along fellow Bachie alum Brittany Hockley, Life Uncut. Recently while talking on that podcast, the reality star opened up for the first time about the devastating loss she experienced fiancé Matty.
"Just two months ago, Matt and I went through our second miscarriage and that still feels raw and very bizarre to even say out loud,' the 32-year-old jewellery designer shared. "It's not something I've really spoken about, not something that I've talked to many people about, but I feel very very passionately that miscarriage is a conversation that needs to be had in an open forum."
When The Bachelor Australia’s Nick Cummins didn’t choose Brittany Hockley at the end of his season (in case you missed it, he decided not to choose any of the eligible bachelorettes that competed for his love on the show), we couldn’t believe it. We were partly heartbroken for her, because she had real feeling for the former rugby player, but we were also happy for her - because she sure dodged a bullet there.
She now co-hosts Life Uncut alongside Laura Byrne, as well as dabbling in acting and positive speaking roles with Beautiful Minds.
Jen Hawke, who appeared on Matty J's season, may not be returning to our screens for Bachelor In Paradise, but the former Bachie villain has good reason: she's in the middle of writing a juicy tell-all book about her time in the mansion. Taking to Instagram Stories in 2018, Jen announced her new project to fans, revealing the book's name: 'The B*tchelorette.' Naturally.
"It's a juicy cautionary tale for anybody thinking about diving into the reality TV family," Jen previously told The Daily Mail of the book. "I see it as a tell-all without telling all and sometimes telling too much," she continued, before revealing that the book will be told from a contestant's perspective and that several of the other women from Matty J's season would be included in the form of fictional characters.
She is also now the co-host of the podcast, @girlsjustwannahavewine.
Bachie alum Abbie has been up to a lot since appearing on Matt Agnew's season. After months of criticism following her portrayal on the series, the reality star has launched a podcast, It's A Lot, and gone on to become a force of positivity for young women.
“I feel like where I am now, compared to where I was six months ago during airing, is a completely different person mentally," she told Mamamia!
The podcast looks to "answer listener questions, doing the best to give advice about dating, friendships, sex and all other facets of life," the description reads. "And then do a deep dive into a topic of interest. Guests include personal friends of Abbie's, people she admires and experts in fields that she thinks we could all learn from."
Possibly one of the most memorable alums, Keira Maguire has certainly stuck to the reality TV game since first appearing on Richie Strahan's season. She later went on to appear in two seasons of Bachelor In Paradise, where she found love with Bachelorette runner-up Jarrod Woodgate before eventually calling it quits. She's also appeared on Channel 10 series, I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune and Chris & Julia's Sunday Night Takeaway.
"I'm not really doing that much at the moment," she told former Bachelorette Georgia Love on Melbourne's Derby Day last year. "Just waiting for the next big opportunity, hint hint, nudge nudge."
We love when Australian reality TV collides. Such is the case for Bachie alum Kayla Gray, who appeared in Nick Cummins' season, is currently dating Married At First Sight star Mick Gould. The couple has been living together since she quit her Melbourne job and moved to regional Queensland.
"I didn't think going to an event with a bunch of reality rejects would be where I met my soulmate," Mick told New Idea.
Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise alum Simone Ormesher, who appeared on Matty J's season, welcomed her first child with partner Matt Thorne last year.
"Welcome to the world Gracie-Mae Kathleen Thorne (Kathleen named after my Nanna)," she wrote, adding, "More beautiful than we could have ever imagined ♥️ After a few complications with baby's breathing she was admitted to NICU where she is being looked after but is doing so well and will hopefully be home with us in a couple of days, We could not have asked for a more stronger, amazing baby girl we are so in love."
