What is Clear + Brilliant?
“Basically, it’s like a laser treatment- that uses fractional laser technology. It works in a similar way to a peel, and I was a little worried because my skin is quite sensitive, but it’s suitable for all skin types. It’s non-invasive (which was a huge drawcard for me) and you get numbing cream put on your face [pre-treatment], so it’s a lot less painful than I thought it was going to be. The treatment itself lasts around 90 minutes- including the consultation. You need to go at least two-three times with six weeks between each treatment to see maximum results.”
Speaking of results…
“It will help prevent the early signs of ageing. It clears up mild sun damage and pigment. Your skin is going to look brighter – you can see improved tone and texture and the one thing that really impressed me was the minimum downtime. I went out to dinner that night and my face may have been a little bit red, but no one could tell I had had it done.
You recently got engaged- is this the beginning of your wedding skin prep?
“Definitely. That’s something in the forefront of my mind. I want to look after my skin. I’ll do it more this year as oppose to right before the wedding, but it’s definitely part of my preparation.”
As this is an in-salon treatment, can you tell us what you use at home in between?
“My regular, everyday regimen doesn’t involve a huge amount. Less is definitely more; I don’t like to plaster my face with lots of products. I use a cleanser- usually a micellar water- and then a day/ night moisturiser. I’m currently using La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream – I’m obsessed with it. I also try to steer clear of hot water on my face.”
