Move over thongs, according to Alexa Chung, jelly sandals are the only beach-friendly shoe worth considering this season. For her debut London Fashion Week show, the model-turned-designer sent versions of the practical style down an airport lounge-inspired runway, teamed with everything from a high-shine rain mac to a LBD.
Informed by the world of travel, the collection also featured intrepid boots—of the lace-up and lug-sole variety—as well as a pair of embellished evening slides that we can't wait to get our hands on come party season.
Titled Arrivals and Departures, the range riffed on postcard slogans, travel company motifs, and confirmed that shell jewellery and basket bags are here to stay—just add a silk scarf to hit refresh on the latter.
On the other end of the style spectrum, Chung had city-smart tailoring covered in the form of double-breasted jackets, straight-cut trousers and chic utility jumpsuits that offered a nod to the classic aviator outfit.
