Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio has taken off her wings for the very last time.
The runway veteran has confirmed rumours that she won’t be walking for the lingerie brand in the future, after seventeen years with Victoria’s Secret. Ambrosio has chosen to focus on family life and spending more time with her children Anja, 9, and Noah, 5.
“I can’t even believe that I’m here still. Never in my life would I dream of doing 17 shows, but I’m very happy to be here in China because it’s definitely the biggest show we’ve ever done. We’re on the other side of the world. The venue is so incredible and culturally it’s so different and to be here I feel so fortunate,” Ambrosio told People ahead of the runway show in Shanghai.
Alessandra is one of the most popular VS Angels; she made her debut at the age of twenty and has worn the coveted Fantasy Bra twice. The 37-year-old has even broken the record for wearing the heaviest wings the brand has ever created — a 30-pound Swarovski-encrusted pair that she wore while pregnant in 2011.
Ambrosio told Entertainment Tonight she expects that final walk to be very emotional, but knows that she and her fellow Angels -- aka her "family" -- will stay close.
