COOKBOOK AUTHOR
Kennedy, 46, is well known as part of the Working Dog comedy team, and has been a star of TV (Frontline) and a film producer (The Castle and The Dish). After having five children in quick succession, and struggling to lose weight, Kennedy set out to develop tasty, and healthy, recipes, before launching a career as a cookbook author, with Fabulous Food, Minus The Boombah, in 2009. Her follow-up cookbook, OMG! I Can Eat That?, was released in 2010. Aimed at making healthy eating easier for Australians, the books steer away from kilojoule counting. Kennedy is also ambassador for e.motion21, which provides dance and fitness opportunities for children with Down syndrome.

ETHICAL FOOD ENTREPRENEUR
Arias, 39, is a former journalist who is passionate about Third World farmers being paid a fair price for their produce. In 2006, she founded República, offering coffee and drinking chocolate made from fair trade and organic beans. In República's first financial year, turnover was around $500,000. The products are now stocked by Coles and Woolworths nationally, and served on Jetstar and V Australia flights. In 2009, República won Best Fair Trade Business in the City of Sydney Business Awards, and it has been featured on BRW's Fast 100 list of the fastest-growing businesses. "I built this company from scratch," says Arias. "To see it on shelves nationally is very rewarding."

ELIZA BROWN
WINE COMPANIES CEO
When her father, Peter, died in an accident, Eliza became CEO of the family's two wine businesses, All Saints Estate and St Leonards Vineyard, overnight. Having worked in the wineries for three years, as sales and marketing manager, Eliza—and brother, Nicholas, and sister, Angela—had a tough choice: sell the business, find someone to run it, or do it themselves. They chose the latter, and five years on, the business' annual turnover is around $5 million. Eliza, 37, is also director of wine company Brown Brothers, and in 2007 was selected as one of the Future Leaders of the Australian Wine Industry and a finalist in the Telstra Business Women's Awards.
