| Will these couture looks hit the red carpet? |

Awards season and haute couture gowns go hand-in-hand on the red carpet. So, it is fitting that as the Academy Awards nominations were announced in Beverly Hills, celebrities sat front row at Chanel and Armani Privé in Paris.
First stop was the Chanel runway, which was close to literally being a runway. Elizabeth Olsen, Alice Dellal, Vanessa Paradis, Diane Kruger and Clémence Poésy all checked into a faux airplane (complete with an aisle and window seats) to see Karl Lagerfeld's couture creations, which were subtly aeronautically themed. Think: A sky blue pallet and vintage air-hostess-style dresses.
Then came the Armani Privé show, where Jessica Chastain and Cameron Diaz took in a selection of olive-green and garden-print structured full-circle skirts and dresses.
Givenchy finished off day two with an intimate presentation of black, white and metallic gothic-chic looks, including plunging-neckline floor-length gowns.
We can't wait to see which of these luxe pieces make it on the red carpet! Watch this space.
