Carl Kapp's Collision collection hit the catwalk with full force last night at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. With 33 models sporting sharp, cropped, jet-black hair (inspired by Madonna in the music video clip,
Rain and actress Rooney Mara), they stormed down the runway to the electrifying sounds of twisted metal and car crashes.
Inspired by Helmut Newton in the late 1980s, the collection conveyed strong, structured pieces juxtaposed by free flowing gowns in vibrant hues; a collision of fabrics.
ghd's Hair Director, Alan White, created a hair look to suit the strong collection. "We braided the hair before applying the black wig. We added ghd Final Shine Spray to give it that real glossy sheen," said White.
Rebecca Prior, Napoleon Perdis Hair Director calls the make-up look "androgynous", "dark" and "sexy". She says, "While there's a depth to the socket of the eye and to the contour of the cheek, there's still a softness as well. We're also putting a bit of a focus on the brow - but we're doing it with powder as opposed to pencil. For the strong contouring, we have used Napoleon Perdis Ultimate Contour Palette. It really gives that Madonna feel."
