We've found three hot hair trends you'll see in the upcoming season, and show you how to make them work.
Retro volume
Think old-school, vintage styles and big buns.

"The inspiration for the hair was glamorous 'Riviera' hair. 'The bigger the better' is the motto we're standing by," says Renya Xydis, ghd hair director.
Get the look: Add a combination of ghd Fat Hair Lotion and Maximise Mousse ($35 each; 1300 443 737) to hair. Tease hair in sections as high as you can, then brush out, moulding the front into a quiff and pin in place. Use a ghd Styler ($299) to softly curl the rest of the hair, then pull it over one shoulder.

Crimped is the new curl
Forget curly curls. Now it's about crimping (but not like a bad '80s flashback).

"Alice liked the crimped look so I suggested we set it in a braid so that you get a more natural look, not like it was done with a hair tool," says Jamal Hammadi, Sunsilk Co Creator.
Get the look: "I worked with damp hair and added Sunsilk hairspray, then plated small sections of hair. As we released the braid it had an undone texture. At the end we used the Sunsilk Co Creation Addictive Brilliant Shine Texturising Wax ($7.99; 02-8303 6464) to create a little more sheen and separation in the style."

Wet look
This season proves that wet look isn't scary, it's hot. And very, very shiny.

"The inspiration was very architectural, really amazing art forms, chrome and geometrical shapes," says hairstylist Jon Pulitano. "We've created really low side part which results an almost square silhouette around the face. Then we slicked gel over the top of the head but we didn't gel the ponytail–we wanted a really glassy finish on top.
Get the look: "We used the Cloud Nine Iron ($270; 07-3394 3931) at the roots to create the 'flatness' we needed," says Pulitano. Once you have created a side part and pulled hair into a ponytail, paint a high-shine gel onto the head of your hair, but leave the rest of your hair fresh.
